Metal Milling for Industrial Parts

Accuracy is essential for many industrial fasteners. Metal milling is used to create flat surfaces, slots, and complex shapes in metal. This machining process is widely used for fasteners in machines and equipment.

Hetraco has a modern machine park equipped with various CNC milling machines. These machines enable parts to be produced quickly and accurately according to drawings or specifications. The maximum machining size for milling is approximately 1,400 mm, which means that even larger parts can be machined.

Metal Milling Using Our Own Machinery

All milling work is performed at Dutch Bolting Company’s in-house machine shop, where custom fasteners and special parts are manufactured for industrial applications. CNC metal milling involves the precise machining of materials using computer-controlled machines. This ensures consistent dimensions and reliable quality, even for complex shapes or tight tolerances.

Hetraco’s machinery fleet consists of several milling machines from manufacturers such as Pinnacle, Olympic Seiki, and Kasuga. These machines offer a wide range of machining capabilities in various directions and dimensions. Because this machining is performed in-house, production can be closely aligned with the project schedule.

Milling steel and other metals

Milling steel for industrial parts requires experience with various types of materials. In practice, this often involves special alloys or types of steel used in heavy-duty equipment or machinery.

Hetraco’s manufacturing process involves the milling of various materials, including structural steels and high-strength steels, stainless steel, duplex and superduplex steels, and special alloys designed for high temperatures or pressures. These materials are used in sectors where reliability and quality are critical, such as equipment manufacturing, the petrochemical industry, the offshore sector, and the maritime industry.

Metal Milling for Special Fasteners

Many of the parts milled at Hetraco are part of what are known as “special fasteners.” These are fastening components that are not available off-the-shelf but are manufactured specifically according to drawings. Examples include bolts and nuts with special shapes, parts with slots, flat surfaces, or recesses, and custom fasteners for industrial installations.

By combining turning, rolling, and metal milling within a single production environment, these parts can be manufactured efficiently.

A Practical Approach from Application to Production

At Hetraco, a practical approach is key. A request is first evaluated from a technical standpoint. Then, we determine which machining operations are required and how production can best be scheduled. This approach ensures clarity regarding materials, machining, and scheduling. For customers, this means a single point of contact and a production process that aligns with the project’s requirements.
