Maritime

The maritime sector is of great importance to the Netherlands. Shipping, shipbuilding, and ship repair together form a market in which reliability and continuity are key. For marine engine manufacturers, overhaul companies, and other maritime stakeholders, fasteners are an essential component of the final product or maintenance process.

Fasteners for the maritime industry

Hetraco supplies fasteners for applications in the maritime sector, particularly for marine engines and overhaul work. In this market, quality, dimensional accuracy, and clear documentation are key. Parts must fit perfectly and continue to perform under demanding conditions.

Need marine fasteners?

Do you need bolts, nuts, studs, or specialty fasteners for a marine application? Hetraco is happy to help you find a solution that’s technically sound and fits your schedule. In addition to maritime applications, our specialty fasteners can be used in a variety of sectors, from petrochemicals and equipment manufacturing to offshore and maritime applications. Hetraco: fastens every industry.

Fastening components for shipbuilding and ship repair

Within the maritime sector, we frequently supply bolts, hex and round nuts, stud bolts, and custom parts based on drawings. These include both standard sizes and custom-made parts for specific applications. Many of these components are used in engines, installations, and technical systems on board ships or in maintenance facilities onshore.

Commonly used materials in this industry include 34CrNiMo6, 42CrMo4, 30CrNiMo8, Ck35, Ck45, and duplex 1.4418. Depending on the application, parts can also be given an appropriate surface treatment, for example, to provide extra protection against corrosion or wear. In this way, we ensure that parts meet the customer’s needs and requirements, so they are always suited to the conditions in which the product will be used. Commonly used treatments include:

  • Electrolytic Galvanizing
  • Chemical Blackening
  • PTFE Coating
  • Copper Plating
  • Phosphating
  • Zinc Flake Coating
  • Xylan or Xylar Coating
  • Chemical Blackening

Quality and Inspection for Critical Applications

In maritime applications, documentation and inspection are often an integral part of the process. That is why we can supply products with additional testing, such as Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), and with 3.2 certificates from independent certification bodies such as Lloyd’s Register, Bureau Veritas, DNV, CCV, and ABS. For customers, this means that not only is the product itself in order, but the supporting documentation is as well. This is important for overhauls, new construction, and projects where safety and quality control are key considerations.

A practical partner for the maritime sector

In this industry, quick action is often required—especially when it comes to maintenance, overhauls, or the failure of critical components. Hetraco is accustomed to dealing with technical questions, direct communication, and clear agreements.

You’ll have a single point of contact who oversees the entire process—from request to delivery. This ensures clarity and prevents unnecessary delays. In addition, we are a member of the Netherlands Maritime Technology trade association.
